Alligator Creek Falls

Nadine about to jump into the alligator infested waters.
No idea why the creek is called such, as there are no alligators in OZ

Basically the area is a low saddle between two pretty big peaks (which I never got to cos there are too many snakes ).
It's about a 3-4 hour walk in (or a 1.5 hour run if you are keen)

Now wouldn't that be a cool waterslide!

On the way back, we saw this little dude. He's well over a metre long.

There were lots of these wild brumbies about. The male (the white one) was very defensive of his pack

Paluma Snake Attack!!!

We were just sitting here by the pool, enjoying the cool waters, when suddenly, out jumped a...

No, wait, that's a lizard. He jumped out, yes, but we were OK with that.

Out jumped a SNAKIE. He was about 1.2 - 1.3 m long and he wanted blood.
Either that or he wanted to get the hell out of there. His choice of escape route was poor, however, as it went directly towards us. Nadine screamed and levitated onto a park bench. I, with great manliness ran down to the pool. The snake disappeared, no doubt waiting around the next corner, poised to strike.
And so it ended with us climbing the bank up the other side (right through thick bush and probably more hungry snakes - however, none attacked and we escaped to blog another day).
Nadine, strangely enough didn't want to come bushwalking in the afternoon.
